Kohli, Rahane stretch India’s lead to 403 in Delhi Test

New Delhi : Test captain Virat Kohli and first innings centurion Ajinkya Rahane produced contrasting fifties as India recovered from a brief collapse to reach 190-4 in their second innings on the third day of the fourth and final match against South Africa at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Saturday.The hosts have extended their lead to 403 before bad light forced early stumps with Kohli and Rahane remaining unbeaten on their respective scores of 83 and 52.Although Morne Morkel reduced India 57 for four, Kohli and Rahane steadied the ship by building first century stand of the series. The duo went on to add 133 runs for the fifth wicket.Morkel was the pick of the bowlers for the tourists as he grabbed three wickets, while spinner Imran Tahir claimed the prized wicket of Cheteshwar Pujara (28). India are aiming to end the four-match series on a high note after taking an unassailable 2-0 lead following a comprehensive 124-run win over South Africa in the third Test. India had also ended South Africa’s nine-year winning streak in away Test series.
