Lodha panel report: Minister or Govt. servant cannot be BCCI officials

New Delhi : The Supreme Court appointed Justice (Retd.) R. M Lodha committee, which submitted their final report on Monday, issued restrictions on the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) office-bearers saying that no minister or government servant can be the officials in the cricket body.The panel added no BCCI office-bearer will be allowed to hold the office for more than three terms.”As regard to the office bearers. The five namely president, vice president, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer, certain eligibility criteria has been fixed like he must be an Indian, he must not be above the age of 70 years, he must not be insolvent, he must not be a minister and government server and who has not held office in the BCCI for cumulative period for nine years,” Justice (Retd.) Lodha told media here.”Each office bearer will have tenure of three years and no office bearer can hold the office for more than three terms, with a rider that they will be cooling off after each term. In other words, no office bearer can hold office consecutively for two terms. There has to be cooling off regardless of the post,” he added.
