Moderate quake jolts Meghalaya

Meghalaya (Shillong : A moderate earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale hit Meghalaya today.
The tremor was felt at around 1: 12 p.m. with its epicentre located in Meghalaya’s east Garo Hills.
No damage has been reported so far.In 1897, Meghalaya witnessed an earthquake measuring 8.7 on the Richter scale that left over 1,600 people dead.
