Moises Henrqiues, Rory Burns suffer nasty injuries after collision in Natwest 20 match

London : Moises Henriques and Rory Burns suffered nasty injuries in a Natwest T20 match between Sussex and Surrey which signalled the end of the contest. In what was one of the most horrific cricket injuries in recent times, the two players were gunning for the same ball and collided and fell with blood on their faces. An ambulance was called immediately and the two players were stretchered off. Henriques is said to have lost teeth and broken his jaw while Burns has had cut marks on his eye and head.
Such collisions on the field have the potential of ending cricket careers. Steve Waugh and Jason Gillespie were involved in a similar incident in 1990/00 against Sri Lanka and the latter was on the sidelines for a considerable period of time. Cricket is still reeling from Phil Hughes’ tragic death and can ill-afford any more tragedies. Henriques departed with blood all over his face and might potentially harm the prospects of making his way back into the Australian side. Burns meanwhile, is a highly-rated young English player. The incident happened at Arundel.
