Mumbai Rains: 2 die of electrocution; roads, railway tracks in tatters

Mumbai : It was supposed to be yet another normal, busy day for an average Mumbaikar before heavy rains lashed across the city to completely throw normal life out of gear. An astounding 283 mm of rainfall was recorded in just a single day. Railway lines were shut, roads waterlogged and damages were severe as Mumbai continued to bear the brunt of the monsoon, which usually hits the city during this time of the year.
Two people are reported to have been electrocuted in the mayhem. In several low lying areas in the city, which include Chembur, Sion, Dombivili, Andheri, Lowel Parel and Thane, where there was knee-deep water which also saw certain cars partially submerged.
