New Delhi
The list of top ten most livable cities in the world is out and sadly not even one Indian city features in the list. The cities have been listed taking factors into consideration like happiness, social services, growing economy etc. Also factors like high crime rate, health care system, culture and transportation come into picture while considering the top ten cities to live in. The list was compiled by Global Liveability Report of the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). It sketched out that in many cities around the world, the bar of standard of living has raised and with this globally the average livability metric has gone up in years. Three cities of Canada have featured in the top 10 list, while there is a tie for the fifth slot.
Here is the list of top ten cities
1. Melbourne, Australia
2. Vienna, Austria
3. Vancouver, Canada
4. Toronto, Canada
5. Calgary, Canada (tied for 5th slot)
6. Adelaide, Australia (tied for 5th slot)
7. Perth, Australia
8. Auckland, New Zealand
9. Helsinki, Finland
10. Hamburg, Germany
The survey covered 140 cities around the world though the rankings of top five cities remain unchanged, the past few years have seen increasing instability across the world, causing volatility in the scores of many cities. Unfortunately, Sydney city of Australia did not feature in the list this year.
