Paes, Bopanna reach French Open third round with contrasting wins

Paris : Indian men’s doubles stars Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna progressed through to the third round of the French Open after recording straight sets wins with their respective partners here on Friday.
Sixth-seeded Bopanna and Florin Mergea claimed a 6-3, 6-4 win over French pair of Gregoire Barrere and Quentin Halys in the second round before Paes and Marcin Matkowski trounced Austrian-German duo of Julian Knowle and Florian Mayer 6-4, 6-3.Meanwhile, top seeded pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis will play their second round women’s doubles contest later in the day.
