Pandemonium in Punjab Assembly, session adjourned for half hour

Chandigarh, June 15 : The Punjab Vidhan Sabha session was adjourned for half an hour by the Speaker barely 15 minutes after it began here on Thursday morning.
The Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP MLAs stormed into the Well of the House demanding discussion on the farmers’ debt.
The Speaker said the issue should be raised after Question Hour. The speaker did not relent and adjourned the session after Congress MLAs also started raising slogans. The Vidhan Sabha also paid homage to Punjabi writer Ajmer Singh Aulakh, who passed away in Mansa on Thursday. AAP leader Sukhpal Khaira waived a copy of The Tribune in the House, demanding a vigilance inquiry in the Rana Gurjit issue.  Akalis sought an apology from Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu for “abusing” them.
