Panj Piaras ask Sikh community for social boycott of five high priests

AMRITSAR: Estranged Panj Piaras (five beloved of Guru) here today in a religious edict passed asked the Sikh community to keep social boycott of all the five Jathedars (Sikh high priests) including Jathedar Akal Takhat Gyani Gurbachan Singh. They asked the Sikh community to decide the fate of Shriomani Gurdwara Pharbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar and newly appointed SGPC chief secretary Harcharn Singh.Four dismissed Panj Piaras including one retired assembled in one of the Gurdwara just few kilometers away from the Golden Temple where they have passed religious edict, since they were not allowed to come at Akal Takhat today.They said that SGPC chief Makkar was time and asked through the valid religious edict to remove all the five jatehdars involving to grant pardon to Sirsa based Dera Sacha Sauda Sect Chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh and later decision was reversed that created turmoil among the Sikh community.
