PM hails Indian Army jawans, says BJP made OROP a reality at Mandi rally

Mandi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated three power projects in Himachal Pradesh. Addressing a ‘parivartan rally’ in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, Narendra Modi hailed Indian Army jawans and the efforts of his government for implementation of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme for soldiers. Describing the Himachal Pradesh as ‘devbhoomi’ and a ‘veerbhoomi’, Narendra Modi said he was delighted to visit the hill state. Narendra Modi also remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for laying foundation of the three power projects in Himachal Pradesh.
“I am delighted to come to this Devbhoomi and have the opportunity to interact with all of you. I remember and salute farsightedness of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Urja Shakti projects inaugurated today can transform Himachal Pradesh,” said Narendra Modi in Mandi. “Projects costing Rs 34 crore 3 decades ago costs more than Rs. 2000 crore now. Had the projects been completed on time imagine the gains,” said Modi adding that his government at Centre focused on completing pending projects across the country. “When we assumed office, we saw there were so many projects incomplete. They were decided so long back but not much happened,” said Modi.
Hailing the Indian Army, PM Narendra Modi said that One Rank One Pension was their right and the BJP government delivered on the promise of implementation of OROP. “When I had come here for the Lok Sabha campaign I had spoken about OROP. When we took office, I studied the matter in detail. “OROP, something that was pending for 40 years, has been implemented by our Government,” said Narendra Modi in Himachal Pradesh.
