Portugal to Decide on Bhai Pamma’s Case on February 15

LISBON, Portugal—During the court hearing today, a team of senior officials of the Punjab police submitted Bhai Paramjit Singh Pamma’s extradition papers. The court will now submit the paperwork to the Ministry of Justice, which will decide upon the case by February 15.
The Punjab Police is demanding Bhai Paramjit Singh Pamma’s extradition from the Portuguese government in the murder case of RSS’s Punjab Chief Rulda Singh. Punjab Police had earlier alleged Bhai Pamma’s name in two additional cases, however later dropping them due to lack of evidence.
Sources have revealed that the Punjab police, via the Indian government, have convinced the Portugal government that Bhai Pamma will not be given capital punishment or imprisonment of more than 25 years if found guilty by courts in India.Bhai Paramjit Singh Pamma was arrested from Portugal on December 18 by Interpol.Bhai Pamma’s family has appealed to EU officials, including the Portugal Government to send him back to the UK, where he enjoys political asylum. They fear that Pamma’s fate will be similar to that of Prof. Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar, who was given unfair trail in India and sentenced to death after his deportation from Germany.
