Premis’ murder: Dera to pay homage today

Sangrur : Dera Sacha Sauda followers have asked senior police officers to attend the ‘naam charcha’ (religious congregation) at Ahmedgarh tomorrow to share details of the ongoing investigation into the premis’ double murder.
Satpal Joshi and his son Ramesh Joshi were gunned down on February 25 by two unidentified motorcycle-borne men in the canteen of the dera’s centre at Jagera (Khanna). “As per our estimates, about 50,000 to 60,000 ‘premis’ from across the state will reach Ahmedgarh to attend the congregation. All want to express solidarity with the family of the deceased. We have made the arrangements at the grain market,” said Harinder Insan Mangwal, a member of 45-member state body of the dera.“There is resentment among followers as they have not seen any arrest in the case so far. So, we have invited police officers to the event and asked them to share the latest status of their investigations in the case with us. We know they could not share much, but we only want to know the primary details of their investigations,” said Mangwal.Naam charcha’ will start at 11 pm and end at 1 pm. Later, ‘premis’ will decide whether to discuss the investigation progress report in front of all or some committee members will meet the cops.
