Punjab cabinet lauds role of police in Dinanagar

Chandigarh, August 3: The Punjab cabinet today appreciated the role of the state police in countering the attack by three terrorists in Dinanagar last week.
the cabinet, at a meeting here today, gave approval to the proposal to give a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the family of SP Baljit Singh who sacrificed his life along with three home guards. his son would be absorbed as the DSP on compassionate grounds.the families of the martyred home guards would get Rs 10 lakh each and a job for a family member.similarly, the civilans who lost their lives in the operation would get Rs 5 lakh each and a job for the member of the family.It has also been decided to separate intelligence wing from police department.reharding the retirement of school teachers, it has been decided that the teachers would be retired between March 31 and July 31 irrespective of their date of retirement.
