Punjab Government puts radical Sikh leaders behind bars

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Government has sent the radical Sikh leaders, arrested yesterday, to different jails of Punjab. Dhian Singh Mand the acting Jathedar of Akal Takht appointed by Sarbat Khalsa is lodged in Nabha jail. Simranjit Singh Mann presidenrt SAD(Amritsar) was released today after detaining him overnight. The Punjab Police or orders of Deputy Chief Minister Parkash SingH Badal had arrested organisers of Sarbat Khalsa to prevent them from reaching Akal Takht on Bandi Chhod Divas. Except Dhian Singh Mand, all other radical Sikh leaders were arrested before they could reach Golden Temple. The Police and SGPC however allowed Mand to reach AkaL Takht and deliver the speech. Mand was rounded up after he completed his message. When Mand entered Giolden Temple large number of SGPC task force members and Pinjab Police officials were deployed in civis and none of them tried to stop him.
As per reports Mohkam Singh has been lodged in Ludhiana Jail, Dhian Singh Mand in Nabha jail, Satnam Singh Manawan who was stage secretary at Sarbat Khalsa is sent in Pathankot jail, Baljit Singh Daduwal appointed by Sarbat Khalsa Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib is sent to Tarn Taran jail, Amrik Singh Ajnala appointed Jathedar of Takht Kesgarh Sahib is lodged in Faridkot jail.
These leaders were today presented before courts which ordered them to send in judicial custody.
