Punjab Local Bodies Dept suspends 4 SEs for irregularities

Chandigarh, July 6 : The Department of Local Government on Thursday suspended four SEs for having allotted municipal works running into crores on single tenders in violation of department rules. The suspended SEs are PK Goel (Amritsar), Kulwinder Singh (Jalandhar) and Pawan Sharma and Dharam Singh (Ludhiana). Minister for Local Government Navjot Singh Sidhu said cable operators who had not paid any charges would have to pay pending charges along with penalties. Notices would be issued to them, he added.
