Rajnath Singh Go back slogans greeted Union Home Minister

SRI ANANDPUR SAHIB: The Sikh protesters mainly the activists of Shiromani Akali Dal(Amritsar) today raised the slogans of ‘Rajnath Singh Go back” and ‘Stop discrimination with Sikhs’ as soon as the Union Home Minister stood to address the audience at 350th foundtion day celebrations of Sri Anandpur Sahib here today. Rajnath Singh was Chief Guest at the function who was accompanied by BJP national president Amit Shah.
The function was disrupted for a while and police rounded up about 35 persons while many others went out raising slogans.The protesters also demanded to release Sikh prisoners lodged in other jails fo country. Rajnath Singh didn’t react to slogan shouting and demands of protesting Sikhs.
It is recalled Punjab Government had recently shifted a death convict Davinderpal Singh Bhullar from Delhi to Amritsar jail and cases of many other Sikh detainees are under consideration. It is long standing demand of Sikhs.
The organizers also faced embarrassment when Shankracharya Swami Nishchla Nand Saraswati of Puri Peeth Ujjain walked out of function when he was not given proper seat at dias. Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Punjab Industry Minister and BJP leader Madan Mohan Mittal tried to pacify the Shakracharya who remained adamant and left the venue.
