Sanju special stuns Supergiant

Pune : Sanju Samson hit the first century of this IPL season as Delhi Daredevils beat Rising Pune Supergiant by 97 runs on Tuesday night. Samson’s 63-ball 102 helped Daredevils put up a formidable 205/4 against the home team. Chris Morris’s 38 runs off just nine balls towards the end helped the visitors amass 45 runs in the last two overs and take the total past the 200-run mark.
Samson struck eight boundaries and five sixes, while Morris found the fence four times and cleared it thrice during his cameo. Samson got to his maiden T20 century with a straight six off Adam Zampa in the penultimate over of the innings.
Delhi lost Aditya Tare early, but Samson took the Pune attack by the scruff of its neck. He started off with back-to-back boundaries off Deepak Chahar through the point region. In the next over, he smashed Ashok Dinda for three boundaries as Delhi went along fluently. In reply, Pune’s innings fell apart in the first 10 overs, losing five wickets with just 54 runs on the board. The total proved way beyond Pune as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Eventually, the hosts were bowled out for a paltry 108. Delhi skipper Zaheer Khan picked up 3/20, while leg-spinner Amit Mishra returned even better figures of 3/11.
