SC orders CBI probe in Vyapam scam; whistleblowers’ petitions to be heard next week

New Delhi, July 9: The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered for a CBI investigation into the Vyapam scam and decided to hear separately the petitions of the whistleblowers next week.
“Prima facie, the Supreme Court has directed the case to be investigated by the CBI. The Madhya Pradesh government has also agreed on an investigation by the CBI and the petition of the whistleblowers will have a separate hearing,” whistleblower Dr. Anand Rai told ANI here.”The petitions of the whistleblowers have been deferred until next week, including the decision to monitor the findings of the CBI. The common people will finally get justice,” the other whistleblower Ashish Chaturvedi told ANI here.The apex court has issued notice to the Centre and the Madhya Pradesh government on the petition demanding the removal of state Governor Ram Naresh Yadav. The court has sought a reply within four weeks.The apex court has also issued a notice to the CBI and sought its response within two weeks on the demand for a SC-monitored investigation.
