US drug company decides to drop price after backlash

Washington D.C., Sept. 23 : A US drug company that faced criticism after raising the price of a drug that is used by Aids patients by over 5,000 per cent has now agreed to lower its price.Martin Shkreli, the head of Turing Pharmaceuticals, said that he will drop the prices of the drug after the outcry, but has not revealed the amount, reports the BBC.Turing Pharmaceuticals acquired the rights to Daraprim in August after which it increased the price of the drug from 13.50 dollars to 750 dollars.Talking about the incident, US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said that she will make pharmaceutical companies put more money into research if she is elected.
