VIGILANCE BUREAU NABS CONSTABLE ACCEPTING RS.10,000 BRIBE

CHANDIGARH : The Vigilance Bureau today nabbed Constable Manjit Singh red handed, while accepting bribe of Rs.10,000.

The spokesman of Bureau said that Constable Manjit Singh posted at Central Jail, Patiala has been arrested on the complaint of Ms. Satpal Kaur. Complainant alleged that Manjit Singh demanded bribe of Rs.3.5 lakh for not torturing and helping her son, who was in jail in a matrimonial case. Apart from this, he also demanded Rs.10,000 more as bribe.

The spokesman said that trap was laid by a team of DSP K.D. Sharma and constable Manjit Singh was nabbed red handed accepting bribe.
