Virat Kohli scores half century on return from injury, once again become highest run scorer in IPL

News Delhi : Virat Kohli has once again become the highest run scorer in the history of the IPL. His 4172 runs are just ahead of Suresh Raina’s 4171. Kohli scored 62 off 47 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes as Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 142 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs after being put into bat by Mumbai Indians.
Now it remains to be seen how Mumbai go about this run chase in Bangalore. The track looks to be a good one for batting and RCB may not have enough on the board. But strange things have happened in cricket and RCB would hope that they can give Mumbai a tough fight.
Earlier on Thursday, RCB received a major shot in the arm after skipper Kohli was declared match fit ahead of the crucial tie against Mumbai on Friday.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team on Wednesday confirmed that Indian Cricket team and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has regained match fitness,” the board said in a statement.
Kohli, who injured his right shoulder while diving on the field during the third Test against Australia in Ranchi last month, missed the fourth Test in Dharamsala and also the opening three matches of the RCB.“He will now be available for RCB’s next match against Mumbai Indians on April 14 in Bengaluru.”“The Indian captain had undergone rehabilitation after sustaining an injury to his right shoulder and has now recovered to be able to participate in IPL 2017,” it added.
