Capt to lay stone of lift irrigation scheme : Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh will lay the foundation stone of Rs 60-crore lift irrigation scheme for the Changar area on August 18. As providing water supply in this sub-mountainous area is an arduous task, residents from nearly two dozen villages are forced to shift with their cattle to temporary camps on the banks of the Sutlej every year during summer. The residents of the area get water supply only twice or thrice a week that too just for an hour and their crops are on the mercy of rain god.
