Won’t field outsiders, says AAP

Patiala : Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab affairs in charge Sanjay Singh today said the party was going strong in the state. He said Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal would sound the poll bugle at the January 14 Maghi Mela conference in Muktsar.
He exhorted the party rank and file to stay united and work in unison to ensure the formation of AAP government in the state in 2017. He said no parachute candidate would be fielded from any constituency. “Party top brass is giving clearance for the induction of leaders from other parties only after scrutinising their credentials. The interests of the existing party leaders and workers will be protected and the leadership will ensure fair distribution of work among the cadre,” said Sanjay.
In the city to attend a meeting of volunteers regarding preparations for the Muktsar rally, Sanjay Singh said people from other parties joining AAP was a positive development. “Earlier, politicians with clean record did not have any option. With the formation of AAP, the politicians who were feeling suffocated in the mainstream parties are now keen on joining us,” he said. “Every party needs to expand its base and we too need more supporters in Punjab. In the process, we will not ignore our existing volunteers. The newcomers have joined us without any condition,” Sanjay Singh said.He said if voted to power, the party would constitute a special committee to investigate suicides by farmers. “These deaths are no less than murders and all those found responsible will be punished accordingly”, he added.Accompanied by party’s national organisation building head Durgesh Pathak, state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Himmat Singh Shergill and others, Sanjay Singh claimed that January 14 rally would be one of the biggest rallies the state had ever witnessed.
