$100,000 committed to annual Children’s Festival

A re-elected NSW Liberals and Nationals Government will support the running of the annual Children’s Festival with $100,000 over the next four years.

Minister for Multiculturalism Mark Coure said the NSW Liberal and Nationals Government had previously committed to supporting the Children’s Festival Organisation with the running of its event over the past four years, and is proud to do so again.

“We are committed to helping our state’s diverse communities celebrate their culture and share it with everyone,” Mr Coure said.

“That is why in our next term of government, we will invest $25,000 a year for four years to ensure the Children’s Festival can continue to do just that.

“The Children’s Festival is a true reflection of our state’s multicultural society.

“Over the past 24 years, this long-standing festival has championed our state’s diversity by providing the opportunity for everyone to be proud of their heritage.”

Thuat Nguyen AM, President of the Children’s Festival welcomed the commitment and looks forward to continuing to bring children from all over Sydney together to showcase their talent and culture with the broader community.

“This investment will help support and empower our local communities, who each bring their own diversity and vibrancy to our state’s rich cultural tapestry,” Mr Nguyen said.
