The Government’s Jobs and Skills Summit is looking for real solutions to the widespread skill shortages impacting Australia.
According to Acting Vice-Chancellor of Charles Darwin University (CDU) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Students and VET Sam Jacob, the skills summit must look at and address the barriers faced by some people in gaining meaningful employment in order to make a difference.

The following quotes can be attributed to Acting Vice-Chancellor of Charles Darwin University (CDU) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Students and VET Sam Jacob:
“If the Summit is going to make a difference, then in addition to a focus on emerging industries, it also needs to address the barriers faced by some people in gaining meaningful employment.”
“We need to transform opportunities for those doing it tough in the labour market: regional and remote Australians, women, people with disabilities, First Nations people, unpaid carers, Australia’s migrant and refugee communities.”
“In service to communities across the Territory and beyond, Charles Darwin University (CDU) is committed to social justice and passionate about the inclusion of diverse learners, making training accessible to everyone.”
“We are working with government, industry and business to build workforces and fill vital jobs.”
“If the Skills Summit puts regional Australia at the heart of its focus and sees diverse workforces as the key to future success, we’ll move further, faster, towards making the NT the best place in the world to live, work and study.”
