A western Sydney first as a LEGO® brick exhibition comes to Parramatta

One of the world’s most famous toys is about to make its mark at City of Parramatta’s PHIVE, as the popular Brickman Cities exhibition makes its Western Sydney debut.

It’s the first time the impressive display of LEGO® brick skyscrapers and cityscapes has been exhibited in western Sydney, bringing with it a pile of more than two million LEGO® bricks for visitors to enjoy and create their own masterpieces.

The exhibition features stunning replicas of Lower Manhattan, as well as buildings from London, Dubai, Tokyo and Sydney. Each scale model has been carefully crafted, brick by brick, by the Southern Hemisphere’s most skilled brick artist, Ryan McNaught, a.k.a. the Brickman (as seen on LEGO® Masters).

More than 2,200 hours and 628,000 LEGO® bricks have been used to produce the 21 masterpieces on display. They capture not only the engineering marvel of the structures but how buildings and landscapes have changed throughout history – everything from London during the Great Fire of 1666 to Japan’s bustling Shibuya Crossing.

“Hosting the famous Brickman Cities exhibition at PHIVE is simply awesome,” City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Donna Davis said.

“Don’t miss your chance to experience the amazing and immersive world of Brickman models featuring internationally recognised landmarks.”

Cr Davis invited everyone to visit the exhibition, especially those in Western Sydney who may not have previously seen the technical genius of Brickman in real life.

“LEGO® has been a huge part of my son’s lives. Brickman’s Cities will appeal to the young and

young at heart. It is the perfect chance to rekindle – or discover – a love for LEGO® bricks and explore our fantastic new community hub in the heart of the Parramatta CBD,” Cr Davis said.

”Come to PHIVE to see Brickman’s creation and build your own Lego masterpiece.”

The exhibition will open this Saturday 17 December at PHIVE’s Discovery Space and will run until Sunday 23 April 2023.
