AASHA’s concert celebrates the talent of Sydney’s Indian, Nepalese, Sri Lankan, and Bangladesh singers, dancers and musicians.

“AASHA’s Sur Sangam Concert is a rich cultural tapestry that is testimony to the power of the performing arts in building a strong, harmonious and inclusive society,” said Mrs Bijinder Dugal, Founder of the AASHA Foundation, a Sydney-based not-for-profit organisation established to assist older members of the Indian subcontinent community to live independent and vibrant lives. AASHA was established in 2017.

“Music and dance are at the heart of AASHA’s work.

“In an age of division, the performing Arts, are more important than ever in building cohesive and united multicultural communities.

“The name AASHA comes from the Hindi word meaning ‘hope’.

“That is why AASHA is so excited to hold its Sur Sangam Concert in the NSW Parliament House,” concluded Mrs Dugal.
