Delhi: 11 December – Delhi High Court has given green signal for election of new Executive Board of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). While giving details on this issue, Mr. Inder Mohan Singh, Expert in Delhi Gurdwara Affairs said that, while disposing of the petition challenging disqualification of the outgoing DSGMC President Mr Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Justice Prateek Jalan of the Hon’ble Delhi High Court vacated the stay order
thereby allowing the constitution of the new General House of the DSGMC because of the statement of Mr Sirsa saying that he withdraws himself from the race of Co-option in the DSGMC as a nominee of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that the Hon’ble Court has not made any remarks on the Orders of the Director Gurdwara Elections, hence his Orders dated September 21, 2021, thereby disqualifying Mr Sirsa from Co-option because of his failure to qualify Gurmukhi language test, will remain in force.
Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that now a meeting of all elected 46 DSGMC members will be called shortly by the Director Gurdwara Elections in which apart from the fresh nominee of the SGPC, one more member out of the Presidents of the Singh Sabha Gurdwaras of Delhi will be Co-opted. He said that after the Co-option process, another meeting all the elected and Co-opted members of DSGMC will be called by the Director Gurdwara Elections in which
after Oath-taking ceremony, the election of the new Executive Board will be conducted. Mr Inder Mohan Singh said that it is expected that the new General House of DSGMC will come into existence by the end of this month.
