Senior Punjabi journalist and well-known anchor Simranjot Singh Makkar was honoured by the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Christopher Luxon, during the inauguration ceremony of the New Zealand Sikh Games.
The award was presented in recognition of Makkar’s long-standing contribution to international Punjabi journalism, particularly his work in connecting Punjabi communities across Australia, New Zealand, and other parts of the world.
